Connect Oscar to Jobber

Oscar answers your calls and books jobs into your arrival windows. Connect Jobber and he checks your team’s Jobber schedule before he offers a time, then puts every job he books into Jobber as a request with an assessment, so the office works from one schedule.

Before you start

Connect

From Oscar

  1. In Oscar, open Schedule from the left menu and scroll to Calendars.
  2. On the Jobber card, click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Jobber if asked, check the permissions and approve access. You come back to Oscar’s Schedule page.
  4. Tick the people whose Jobber visits should take a place in a window. Leave out office staff who never go out on jobs.
  5. For each tech who also has an Oscar login, choose Same as …. Jobs Oscar books for that tech are then assigned to them in Jobber.
  6. Click Save team. The card shows Connected and the first sync runs straight away.

From Jobber’s App Marketplace

  1. In Jobber, open Apps, find Oscar and click Connect.
  2. Sign in to Oscar with the business you want to connect, then allow access in Jobber.
  3. You land on Oscar’s Schedule page. Pick your team as in steps 4 to 6 above.

Check it works

  1. On Oscar’s Schedule page, click an open place in any window next week and book a job for yourself, with your own phone number.
  2. Within a minute it appears in Jobber under Requests, with the assessment in that window. In Oscar, click the job: the panel says In Jobber as a request.
  3. Move it to another window in Oscar and the assessment moves in Jobber. Cancel it in Oscar and the assessment is removed and the request archived.
  4. To check busy times, schedule a visit in Jobber for one of your picked techs and click Sync now on the Jobber card. That window shows one place fewer.

Practice calls on Oscar’s Test page never reach Jobber, so test with a job you book on the Schedule page.

What syncs

Jobber → OscarScheduled visits, assessments, events and tasks for the people you picked, for the next 21 days. Each one takes a place in the window it overlaps. Oscar refreshes every 15 minutes and straight away when Jobber reports a visit change.
Oscar → Jobber, new bookingA request titled with the service and “booked by Oscar”, with its assessment scheduled in the arrival window and assigned to the linked tech. The assessment instructions carry the caller’s issue, phone number, access notes, a call summary and a link to the call in Oscar.
Returning callersIf a Jobber client already has the caller’s phone number, Oscar uses that client and the matching property instead of adding a duplicate.
Moves and cancellationsMoving a booking on Oscar’s Schedule page reschedules the assessment. Cancelling removes the assessment and archives the request. When a caller rings back to move their booking, Oscar cancels the old one and books the new time, so Jobber gets a fresh request.
Oscar’s own jobsAssessments Oscar created aren’t counted twice: they’re already on Oscar’s schedule.
Not syncedQuotes, invoices, payments and anything you change on the request in Jobber, such as line items. Changing an assessment’s time in Jobber doesn’t move the booking in Oscar; move it in Oscar instead.

If something’s wrong

Disconnect

On Oscar’s Schedule page, click Disconnect on the Jobber card. Oscar tells Jobber, which revokes its access, and clears the busy times it copied. You can also disconnect from Apps in Jobber. Requests Oscar already created stay in Jobber, and your bookings stay in Oscar.
